ILLNESS

POLLEN is all around us at  different times of year. Ways to limit your exposure to pollen are the most effective way to limit allergy symptoms. We recommend removing clothes after a day of play. SHAMPOOING your child’s hair in the evening will eliminate pollen that has accumulated during the day. If your child is sensitive to pollen we recommend KEEPING YOUR WINDOWS CLOSED AT NIGHT and running an air purifier in their room. COOL COMPRESSES to eyes that are itchy can help with swelling and sensitivity.  Over the counter and prescription allergy medications (ie: Benadryl, Zyrtec, Claritin) can be used if allergy symptoms are more severe. To find the best allergy medication for your child please DISCUSS THIS ISSUE WITH YOUR PEDIATRICIAN in order to know what medication is best for your child’s age.
